πŸ’… THE BET πŸŽ—οΈ

“Mommy please!!!

Sweet mommy…..” I cooed affectionately and did cute puppy face.

“Princess, you know I don’t like having many people around. I don’t want any of my properties getting stolen.” Mom said with a perturbed look.

“C’mon mom, they are all rich kids you know. They wouldn’t steal, I’ll make sure of that.

There are bodyguards in the house and they can look at the students.

And don’t forget mom, there’s a CCTV camera in this house. You can know anyone who might have stolen which I’m sure no one will do such a thing.

So mom, please no excuse.” I pout and blinked my eyelashes innocently.

Mom sighed and ran her hand through her hair.

She smiled and pulled my cheeks playfully.

“You’re so smart princess. Alright, I agree.

But no getting drunk, no sex, no making out, no fighting and no bad things involved.” Mom said sternly but with a smile.

“Yay mom!! Thank you so much.

I love you.” I beamed enthusiastically.

“You welcome princess and I love you too.” She smiled and hugged me.

“Anything for you.” She added and patted my back.

Well, my eighteenth birthday is coming up next week and I wanted to throw a house party for my grade mate.

Mom didn’t approve of it at first saying, I’m still a kid and so on.

Can you imagine?

Eighteen years old a baby?

Mom can be so dramatic sometimes.

Well, thank goodness she agreed.

You know, I’m the only child of my parents although my dad is dead.

He died when I was fourteen and before he died, he made mom promise him that she was gonna take very good care of me and give me everything I need.

But as a good child that I am, I don’t use the promise against mom except what I want is very important and beneficial.

Mom has really been taking good care of me and providing me with everything I ask for.

She’s been a caring and nice mom.

She’s my everything, my world..

I can’t wait to print out my birthday cards and distribute it to the students at school.

I’m sure they’re gonna be happy…..

Thank goodness, I’m friends with everyone of them. Not really close friends but I talk to all of them.

But I hope one important person agrees….

The words Jayden said to me concerning me liking Paisley has been ringing in my head.

I can’t even seem to get her out of my head.

I have finally let go of the thought that I’m gonna carry out my revenge on her.

I don’t want to complicate things further..

A part of me wants to approach her, apologize to her and make her my friend.

But the other part is saying otherwise…

Jeez!! I can’t believe I even thought of such things.

My big ego wouldn’t allow me to even approach her and talk nicely to her.

Not to talk of apologizing….

But I don’t know, I think I’m having another feeling apart from hatred for her.

I thought I hated her but now, I don’t think so.

I just wanna be around her.

Jeez!! What the hell is wrong with me?

I need to play the keyboard to keep my mind off from her.

Yes! The trick would do.

It’s so surprising that Jeremy isn’t getting on my nerves again.

I mean, I expected him to retaliate but he didn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, not as if I want him to get back at me but it’s a little surprising he hasn’t.

I mean, Jeremy doesn’t let go so easily….

Or is he planning something more?

Is his revenge gonna be worst and painful?

Gosh! I’m so confused.

But I hope and it’s even better he doesn’t get back at me.

But still, I need to be very alert.

And Jason too, who knows what he’s planning to do to me after I humiliated him.

I’m really scared!

I hope Jeremy and Jason wouldn’t gang up and hurt me terribly.

I need to be very careful and always on the watch out. I need to be always be at alert.

“Hey class! I have an announcement to make.

Please you all should give me your listening ears!” Daisy said and waved her hands to the students.

She stood in front of the class with a portable shoprite bag in her hand and I couldn’t get a glimpse of what was inside.

It was kinda thick and wasn’t revealing the inside…

She didn’t tell me anything and I wonder what she’s about to say.

What’s even inside the bag?

I’m really curious.

All the students stopped talking and took their gaze to her.

She sighed and smiled at the students.

I stared keenly at her but she wasn’t even staring at me.

“Thank you.” She breathed out.

“Well, on Saturday is my birthday.

My eighteenth birthday and I’ll be celebrating it.

It’s gonna be a house party.

Girls are invited to have a sleepover on Friday night.

So guys, here in this bag is the invitation cards.

I’ll give the girls three cards. Two is for the sleepover night, you’re to come with just one of your friend.

The friend of yours would take one of the cards.

Then the other would be for the birthday.

The guys would have just the birthday invitation card.

Without the card with you, you wouldn’t be allowed into the compound.

There’ll be securities to make sure of that.

The time and address is also written on the card.

So, any questions?” Daisy explained softly and slowly…

The students started whisperings to themselves and they looked very enthused.

Well, I don’t think I’ll be able to go.

I’m not a party fan or freak.

I don’t like stuff’s like that.

“So, any questions?” Daisy asked with a smile.

“Yeah.” A girl called Mara said and stood up proudly.

“Well, is there a dress code for the party?” She asked.

“Well, it’s written in the card. Any pink dress.

Either gown, trousers or skirt but it must be pink.

The guys don’t have specific colour.

The girls, just wear anything that’s pink.” She expound, still smiling.

“That’s great.” Mara giggled and sat down proudly on her seat.

“So, I guess that’s all.

I’ll just give out the cards.” She smiled and brought out a pink and white designed birthday card with a ribbon on it.

She started giving it out to the students and they took it happily from her.

“Hey.” She called with a smile and stood in front of me.

“Yeah.” I replied casually.

“Well Leah, first of all I’m sorry I didn’t get to tell you about this. I just wanted it to be a surprise for you.

So, would you do me the honor of coming to my birthday party?” She asked calmly, searching my eyes for answers.

I breathed in and out and stared at her.

“I’m sorry Daisy, I can’t.” I retorted calmly.

“Leah please. Nothing would happen, I promise.

It’s gonna be fun. For the sake of our friendship.” She said sadly.

“I’m sorry I can’t.”

She bursted into tears and ran out of the class.

Okay, what’s wrong with her?

I can’t believe I just made her cry..

“Daisy wait up!” I yelled and ran after her.

I caught up with her at the stairs and she was crying profusely.

“Oh my God Daisy, I’m sorry.” I pleaded remorsefully and hugged her.

“I just want you to come to my party, that’s all.

I mean no harm.” She cried on my shoulders.

“Alright, I’ll attend.

I’ll even come for the sleepover.

I promise but please just stop crying. I don’t like seeing you like this especially when I’m the cause.” I cooed softly.

She pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears.

“Thank you so much Leah. Thank you!” She enthused with a smile.

“It’s alright.”I said and hugged her again.

Phew! I can’t believe I agreed to attend her birthday party and even sleepover night.

Well, if that would make her happy, then I don’t regret saying yes.

I pray nothing happens at the party….
