Nigerian have been asking me how to link my NIN with my SIM or phone number so i won’t be block, today I’m going to show you step by step how you can link your NIN with your SIM or phone number simple and easy methods.

The Nigerian Communications Commission known as (NCC) has issued out a circular warning that whoever doesn’t link their National Identification Number with their SIM will be blocked from using their mobile lines.

This report was made viral by the Special Assistant to president Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad.

“The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has given telecommunications operators (MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9Mobile and others) in the country two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN), the Commission has said in a statement,” he wrote in a tweet.

In case you’re wondering how it’s done, this guide is intended to help clear your doubt.

How to Link Your NIN with Your Phone Number

MTN Users

Option 1.

To link your NIN with your MTN phone number, carry out the following steps:

  1. Visit https://mtnonline.com/nim/ using your phone or computer
  2. Complete the NIN linking form by entering your name, phone number, NIN and email address.
  3. Submit the form as soon as you’re done.
  4. Wait from feedback from the network in a couple of days.

Option 2.

To link your your NIN with your MTN SIM using USSD, follow the steps below:

  1. Dial *785# using the MTN you wish to perform the linking on.
  2. Type 1 for “Enter your 11-digit NIN” and send.
  3. Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the network to give a confirmation of your submission. You may get a message saying “Network error.”

Don’t panic if you do! Just wait for some time and try it again.

Airtel Users

To link your NIN to your Airtel phone number, follow the steps below:

  • Dial *121# on the Airtel line you wish to link.
  • Type 1 for “NIN Capture” and send
  • Enter your 11-digit NIN and send.

Wait for the message confirming your submission. If you get an error, just wait for some time and try again.

Other networks (Glo and 9mobile)

For now, Glo and 9Mobile have not commenced sim linking with NIN. As soon as they commence, we will update this post to reflect the steps you must follow to carry out the linking.

However, to get yourself ready to be able to carry out the linking of your NIN with your phone number here’s what you must do:

  1. Visit any NIMC office near you and apply for your National Identity Card if you haven’t
  2. Register and obtain your temporary ID slip which will contain your NIN
  3. Keep your NIN details in a safe place so that you’ll be able to provide them when necessary.

What if you forgot your NIN and don’t have the slip?

If you don’t know your NIN, just dial *346# on the SIM card you registered with the National Identity Management Centre (NIMC).

A message containing your NIN will be displayed, just copy it somewhere safe.

Note that checking your NIN via the USSD provided above costs N20 only.

Whenever you wanted to create or register 2020/2021 Jamb Profile, learn how to settle down to avoids making mistake while creating or registering your 2021/2022 Jamb account. All jamb candidates are advice to purchase jamb e-pin to eligible them to enroll for the 2021 exam.

1. Click On Jamb Official Website at www.jamb.org.ng, createCreate e-Facility Account, fill in the blank space such as email, password and secret password immediately click create account and verify your email address by checking your email.

2. Enter Your Data: Open The Message and click on the link in the message Open the mail that was sent and you will be directed to to: ” click here to proceed with your Profile Creation .” Click on the link to continue you registration exercise.

3. In case the message wasn’t seen in your inbox, you should check your spam or junk folder. This is because most messages from Jamb often appear in spam folder. It is important we tell you
that a UNIQUE CODE was equally sent to you via the message. You are advised to
keep the code save because you will require it when you go to register at the JAMB CBT Center.

4. Provide Original Bio Data:

  • Surname
  • First Name
  • Date Of Birth (day, month
    and year).
  • Telephone Number
  • Nationality
  • State
  • LGA- Password

5. Click On the Sign up button to complete your registration process. Will advice you to check your data before submitting it.

Alternative Method: Registering Jamb 2021/2022 Profile Using Phone Number

Each Candidates are to make use of one cell phone, to get notify when you got admission or you want to request for pin and others. Below are steps on how to register jamb using phone number.

 Sends your Surname, First and Middle Name to 55019. You First, Middle and Surname must not exceed 38 characters.

This means that a total character of 40 characters should be sent to the USSD number (JAMB code) above. Receive a 10-digit Confirmation Code A confirmation code of 10 characters will be sent to your phone number by jamb. The 10-digit code will be used to acquire the E-Pin from the CBT registration centers.
